What to write, in this order

   Name and contact: Full name, phone number (also on WhatsApp), email and city.

   Career objective: Two lines: your qualification, the kind of ward or hospital you want and one strength. Pick one from the objectives below.

   Nursing council registration: State council name, RN/RM, registration number and valid-till date. Hospitals ask for this early. Write "applied" only if that is true.

   Education and internship: GNM or B.Sc Nursing, institute, years and marks. For GNM, note the internship and the hospital where you did your clinical training.

   Experience: Hospital, bed strength if you know it, ward or unit, your role, dates and the actual work you did on the ward.

   Clinical skills: List procedures you have actually done, alone or under supervision. Group them: monitoring, medication, wound care, specialty exposure.

   Certificates: BLS, ACLS or any short courses, with provider and year, only if you hold them.

• State nursing council registration certificate (RN/RM), original and photocopies
• GNM or B.Sc Nursing marksheets and certificate, with internship completion certificate
• 12th and 10th marksheets
• Experience certificates and relieving letters from hospitals
• BLS, ACLS or other course certificates, if any
• Aadhaar card and 2-3 passport-size photos
• For jobs abroad: passport, and the documents the employer and the licensing authority list in writing (for example a good standing certificate from your nursing council)

Mistakes that get GNM Nurse resumes ignored

• Leaving out the nursing council registration number and valid-till date. Hospitals ask for it before anything else.
• Not writing where you did your internship, or in which wards. "Clinical training" alone is vague.
• Listing procedures you have never done. Interviewers ask about them, and a wrong claim on a ward is a patient safety issue.
• Writing only "patient care" and "team player" with no ward, bed strength, shift or procedure details.
• No mention of BLS or other certificates you actually hold.
• Unexplained gaps between the end of your course and your first job. Add a line about any training or courses in that period.
• Writing expected salary on the resume. Discuss it at the interview.
